This celebration also highlights beer’s deep connection to our roots: a symbol of hard work, sustainability, and pride that transcends generations. According to Cerveceros Latinoamericanos, beer accounts for 1.3 % of the region’s GDP, driven by a sector with strong cultural roots.

In Latin America, this industry generates 3.9 million jobs and has established itself as a cultural phenomenon in the region. With more than a century of history, beer has evolved alongside those who produce and enjoy it, adapting to social and cultural changes.

According to Cerveceros de México, our country is the world’s fourth-largest beer producer, accounting for 7.2 % of global volume, trailing only China, the United States, and Brazil. The national beer industry generates more than 700,000 jobs and drives 168 economic activities spanning the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors.

In Mexico, beer is part of our identity and everyday life. It’s present at family celebrations, social gatherings, and artistic expressions, reinforcing a sense of community. From the traditional caguama shared among friends and the cuartitos to new innovations and blends that celebrate local flavors, beer has maintained its place as a symbol of pride and belonging.

HEINEKEN Mexico, affectionately known in many communities asLA CERVECERÍA, is one of the industry’s most iconic companies, distinguished for its pioneering role in blending tradition with innovation throughout its 135-year history. Its initiatives drive economic and social development, promote environmental stewardship, and create value for communities. Currently, the company has more than 17,000 employees, 178 distribution centers, 7 breweries, 1 malting plant, and a “Made in Mexico” portfolio of more than 21 brands—the broadest and most diverse on the market.

“For Mexicans, beer is much more than just a drink: it’s part of our heritage and an authentic way to come together. At HEINEKEN Mexico, we’re proud to be part of this story, with a legacy spanning more than 135 years of driving innovations that transform the industry and allow us to ‘Share Moments of Joy to Inspire a Better World,’” said Claudia de la Vega, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at HEINEKEN Mexico.

Throughout its entire value chain—from the fields to the bar—HEINEKEN Mexico seeks to promote the country’s economic, social, and cultural development by brewing beer with passion and responsibility and maintaining close ties with the communities where it operates.

HEINEKEN Mexico is reinforcing its commitment to the environment through concrete actions aligned with its global strategy of “Creating a Better World.” The Tecate plant is the first to achieve 100% water balance by returning all the water contained in its products back to nature, while the Meoqui plant operates with world-class efficiency: using only 1.71 liters of water per liter of beer, well below the global standard. These achievements position Mexico as a leader in innovation and sustainability.

The company also prioritizes raising awareness about responsible drinking, as demonstrated by the campaign “The best driver is the one who doesn’t drink—unless it’s Heineken 0.0,” featuring Checo Pérez. In addition, it allocates 20% of its media budget to initiatives focused on promoting smart drinking habits, reaching more than 80 million people. It also promotes the Smart Consumption Caravan, an initiative certified by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare that provides curriculum-validated training, benefiting more than 4,300 people by the end of June 2025—twice as many as in all of 2024.

HEINEKEN Mexico remains committed to creating experiences that resonate with people’s passions through various sponsorships. Among these are Formula 1, one of the most high-profile events in the country; Liga MX; and, through music, its participation in festivals such as EDC, Tecate Emblema, and Tecate Pa’l Norte, which celebrate Mexico’s identity.
